The aim of the book is to give an overview of the transmission line matrix (TLM) method in electromagnetism, a time-domain numerical method based on the analogy between the electromagnetic field and a network of transmission lines. The book is divided into four chapters.NEWLINENEWLINEThe first one describes the basic concept of the method in two dimensions. Chapter 2 is dedicated to the three-dimensional problem and presents the main types of nodes currently used. It also features the problem of open structure simulation and the implementation of absorbing boundary conditions. Chapter 3 describes techniques for the simulation of complex structures with passive and active discrete elements, and thin metallic wires. Chapter 4 illustrates how to simulate dispersive media using the \(Z\) transform within the TLM method in matrix form. The last two chapters include application examples.
