Congratulations to Ladislav Matejíčka! \ It happens rarely that a paper concerning the refinements of some very often operated classical inequalities (related to the bounds for the roots of a polynomial with complex coefficients) is so extraordinarily inspiring for posing new problems and questions. Let us begin with the author of the paper who generates some conjecture in the context of quadratic forms analyzed by him (see section 4 of the paper).NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEFrom my point of view, looking at this paper from the outside and with greater distance, there are a lot more questions which can be asked.NEWLINENEWLINEFor example, in my opinion some ``measure'' is missing, not necessarily one measure enabling to compare the estimations obtained by various authors (Cauchy's, Zamfir's and Matejíčka's bounds, for example).NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINENext, whether the estimations obtained by Mateji\(\check{c}\)ka can be strengthened by iterating the original estimating procedure. I notice here the connotation with some idea used by the Polish mathematician \textit{A. Łomnicki} (in the paper [``Sur les méthodes qui servent à limiter supérieurement les modules des racines des équations algébriques'', Enseign, Math. 24, 84--91 (1925; JFM 51.0098.05)]) related to the bounds for the roots of a polynomial with complex coefficients, in which the iteration of the original estimation was also used (see also paper: \textit{J. V. Gonçalves}, ``Recherches modernes sur les limites des racines des polynomes'', Univ. Lisboa, Rev. Fac. Ci., II. Ser. A 7, 57--88 (1959; Zbl 0088.02103)).NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEFinally, whether one can try to determine the averaged estimations, maybe less exact but easier for calculating (comparing to these ones from the paper).NEWLINENEWLINEAt the end of this short review I would like to emphasize one more time that Matejíčka's paper is for sure worth to look at. Creative vein and faint magic associated with mathematical creation is a very big part of this paper.
