Black holes in four dimensions (English)
0 references
The author reviews some old and new facts about black holes in four-dimensional spacetimes. The first part deals with some explicit exact solutions (de Sitter, Kerr, Reissner-Nordström, Schwarzschild). Then, the study focuses on specific properties of black holes in arbitrary four-dimensional spacetimes (uniqueness, stability, topology of the event horizon, cosmic censorship); all of these ones cannot be extended in higher dimensions. Finally, thermodynamical properties of black holes are discussed, holding in any dimension greater or equal 4.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 1241.83007].
