The authors prove in fuzzy metric spaces a common fixed point theorem involving six mappings of which two suitable pairs are compatible of type (A) (this concept is due to \textit{A. Jain} and \textit{B. Singh} [Acta Cienc. Indica, Math. 33, No. 2, 339--346 (2007; Zbl 1148.54333)]).
