On bifurcation sets for symbolic dynamics in the Milnor-Thurston world (English)
0 references
It is well known that the shift of \(n\)-symbols is an important universal model describing the topological dynamics of a large class of systems. In the paper under review, the authors investigate the topological entropy for the Milnor-Thurston world of interval maps which relies on the shift of two symbols.NEWLINENEWLINEThere are two main results in this paper. The authors first compute, for every \(m\in \mathbb{N}\), the periodic orbits of period \(m\) for which the topological entropy attains its minimum and maximum values. Secondly, they show that the Hausdorff dimension and hence the corresponding topological entropy is continuous.
