For an Orlicz function \(M\) and Banach spaces \(X,Y\), the authors introduce the space \(\ell_M(X,Y)=\{T \in \mathcal{L}(X,Y): \{a_n(T)\} \in \ell_M \}\), equipped with the canonical norm, where \(a_n(T)\) denotes the \(n\)th approximation number of \(T\). They prove some basic, standard properties of this space and its members, and prove that it can be identified with a certain Köthe power space of linear operators which is defined via the complementary Orlicz function of \(M\).
