Jakob Philipp Kulik (April 20, 1793 -- February 28, 1863) was born in a Polish family in Lemberg (now L'viv). He has been Professor in Mathematics in Prague for more than 30 years. The author recounts about his life and activity. The paper consists of the following parts: 1. The University education in Austria; 2. The study in Lemberg; 3.
