Characterizations of some special elements in a nearlattice by relative annhilators (English)

A nearlattice is a lower semilattice \(S\) in which every initial segment is a lattice. (It is said to be distributive if every such segment is distributive.) A relative annihilator in \(S\) is defined in the usual way. In the paper, modular elements, standard elements, neutral elements and two types of distributive elements of \(S\) are characterised in terms of relative annihilators.NEWLINENEWLINEReviewer's remark: Distributive, neutral and standard elements in nearlattices have been discussed by the first author and \textit{W. H. Cornish} already in [Bull. Aust. Math. Soc. 26, 185--213 (1982; Zbl 0523.06006); Commentat. Math. Univ. Carol. 28, 199--210 (1987; Zbl 0627.06008)].
