The author deals with the non-autonomous linear equation NEWLINE\[NEWLINE \frac {\operatorname {d}}{{\operatorname {d}}t}u(t)=A(t)u(t),\qquad \;t\in \mathbb {R}_+\;\text{or}\;\mathbb {R}, NEWLINE\]NEWLINE on a Banach space \(X\). The purpose of the paper is to investigate the relationship between the notion of nonuniform exponential instability for evolutionary processes and admissibility of the pair of spaces \(\bigl (C_{00}(\mathbb {R}_+,X),\;C(\mathbb {R}_+,X)\bigr)\), where \(C(\mathbb {R}_+,X)\) consists of continuous and bounded functions on \(\mathbb {R}_+\) and the functions from \(C_{00}(\mathbb {R}_+,X)\) fulfil moreover the condition \(f(0)=\lim _{t\to \infty }f(t)=0\). The processes are the most general in the sense that they do not require uniform or nonuniform growth. A necessary condition for expansiveness of the evolutionary processes is given.
