The authors propose a rational cubic trigonometric Bézier curve with two parameters for shape control (see, for example [\textit{X.-A. Han} et al., Appl. Math. Lett. 22, No. 2, 226--231 (2009; Zbl 1163.65307)]). The shape of the curve can be modified locally by shape parameters and weights. End point curvatures could also be used to impose conditions on the values of the shape parameters and weights so that the curve always satisfies the usually required convex hull property. The second-order parametric and geometric continuity conditions are used to join two rational cubic trigonometric Bézier segments to generate a piecewise rational trigonometric curve or a spline.
