Given a quadrature formula on \([-1, 1]\), one may express the error of the approximation as a continuous linear functional on a suitable space of holomorphic functions. This expression can then be used to estimate the error in approximating the integral of a function in this space with the quadrature formula. Such estimates have been undertaken for cases where the error function is the same sign when applied to every monomial, or alternates sign when applied to monomials whose degree differs by one. In this paper, the author obtains an estimate for quadrature formulas whose sign, when applied to the monomials \(t^k\) for \(k \in \mathbb{N}_0\), only changes once as \(k\) increases. This is the case for many well-known quadrature formulas, including the Clenshaw-Curtis, Basu, and Fejér formulas. The proof is not overly technical and appears that it may be able to be extended to more general cases of changes in sign. The author applies the result to the aforementioned well-known quadrature formulae. A numerical example is given at the end.
