The author studies the interaction of monomer and separated defects in Aztec rectangles in the case when they are situated on the horizontal symmetry axis. Using the product formula of \textit{M. Ciucu} [Commun. Math. Phys. 330, No. 3, 1115--1153 (2014; Zbl 1296.82010), Theorem 1.1] the author determines the asymptotics of the correlation of defect clusters in many cases away from the bulk and involving macroscopic defect clusters. He considers the interaction of two families of neutral doublet defects in the limit as their mutual distances and their distances from the boundary approach fixed ratios. It is shown that the two families behave completely independently of each other. Moreover, among other cases, the case of long neutral defect clusters is considered and the asymptotics of their correlation under various conditions are presented.
