\(N\)-Koszul algebras were introduced by \textit{R. Berger} [J. Algebra 239, No. 2, 705--734 (2001; Zbl 1035.16023)] as a generalization of Koszul's property of quadratic algebras, considered by \textit{S. B. Priddy} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 152, 39--60 (1970; Zbl 0261.18016)], for nonquadratic ones, indeed for \(N\)-homogenous algebras. In the cited paper it was defined the Koszul complex of an \(N\)-homogeneous algebra and showed that the \(N\)-Koszul property can be characterized by the acyclicity of this complex. The author introduces the property of extra-confluent for a presentation of an \(N\)-homogeneous algebra. In the presence of this property the Koszul complex of an \(N\)-homogeneous algebra becomes acyclic. In this paper, a contracting homotopy for the Koszul complex is constructed (Theorem 4.3.5). This generalizes similar construction by \textit{R. Berger} for quadratic algebras in [J. Algebra 201, No. 1, 243--283 (1998; Zbl 0915.16025)]. The construction uses the reduction pairs of linear projectors, from these and some reduction relations a contracting homotopy is built when a side-confluent presentation is given. Finally it is shown that the extra-confluent presentation implies the reduction relations. In the last section, the examples of symmetric algebras, monomial algebras with the overlap property and the enveloping algebra of the Heisenberg Lie algebra are presented.
