Let \((M, g)\) be an \(n\)-dimensional compact Riemannian manifold with boundary. The authors consider the Yamabe-type problem \[ \begin{cases} - \Delta_g u + au = 0\qquad&\text{ on } M,\\ \displaystyle \frac{\partial u}{\partial\nu} + \frac{n-2}{n} b u = (n-2) u^{\frac{n}{(n-2) \pm \varepsilon }}\qquad&\text{ on } \partial M \end{cases}\tag{1} \] where \(a \in \mathcal{C}^1(M)\), \(b \in \mathcal{C}^1(\partial M)\), \(\nu\) is the outward pointing unit normal to \(\partial M\), \(\Delta_g := \operatorname{div}_g \nabla_g u\), and \(\varepsilon\) is a small positive parameter. Let \(\varphi(q) = b(q) - H_g(q),\) for all \(q \in \partial M\). Under some assumptions and for \(n \geq 7\), the authors prove that problem (1) possesses a solution \(u_{\varepsilon}\) in the slightly subcritical case such that \(u\varepsilon\) blows up at a boundary point when \(\varepsilon \rightarrow 0^{+}\), if \(q_0\) is a strict local minimum point of the function \(\varphi\) when \(\varphi(q_0) > 0\). Furthermore, problem (1) possesses a solution \(u_{\varepsilon}\) in the slightly supercritical c case such that \(u\varepsilon\) blows up at a boundary point when \(\varepsilon \rightarrow 0^{+}\), if \(q_0\) is a strict local maximum point of the function \(\varphi\) when \(\varphi(q_0) < 0\).
