In this paper, all spaces are assumed to be nonempty metric continua. A homeomorphism \(f:X\to X\) is minimal if each of its forward orbits \(\{f^n(x):n\geq 0\}\) is dense in \(X\); a nondegenerate subcontinuum \(C\subseteq X\) is \(\eta\)-stable, \(\eta>0\), if \(f^n[C]\) has diameter \(\leq\eta\) for each \(n\in\mathbb Z\). A point \(x\in X\) belongs to stable continua if for every \(\eta>0\), there is an \(\eta\)-stable subcontinuum containing \(x\). In [\textit{A. Artigue}, Topology Appl. 194, 166--170 (2015; Zbl 1408.54009)], it is proved that \(\eta\)-stable subcontinua always exist for minimal homeomorphisms on nondegenerate continua, and the question is asked whether every point belongs to stable continua under the assumption that the ambient continuum is locally connected (Peano). In the paper under review, the answer is shown to be in the negative. The authors produce a Peano continuum \(X\), a minimal homeomorphism \(f\) on \(X\), an \(\eta>0\), and a dense \(G_\delta\)-set \(E\subseteq X\) such that if \(C\) is a nondegenerate subcontinuum intersecting \(E\), then \(C\) is not \(\eta\)-stable.
