The method of mechanical quadratures for integral equations with fixed singularity (Q309445)

The paper is concerned with presenting mechanical quadratures for some singular integral equations with fixed singularity. The aim is to show that for equations with this type of fixed singularity the mechanical quadrature will converge. The paper is structured as follows: first the equations under consideration are introduced and some basic theory is presented on the behaviour of solutions. The quadrature methods to be used are summarised. This is then the basis for the two main sections of the paper which present error bounds at the quadrature nodes and uniform error bounds for the methods.
