The authors deal with the functions \(_{1}\Psi_{1}(\rho,k;\rho,0;x)\) and \(_{0}\Phi_{1}(-;\rho,0;x)\) which are particular cases of the Wright function \(_{1}\Psi_{1}(\rho,k;\rho,\delta;x)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\frac{\Gamma(k+\rho n)}{\Gamma(\delta+\rho n)}\frac{x^{n}}{n!}\), \(k=0,1,2,\dots\), \(\delta\in C\), \(\rho \in (-1,0)\cup(0,\infty)\) and of the ``reduced'' Wright function \(_{0}\Phi_{1}(-;\rho,0;x)=\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}\frac{x^n}{n!\Gamma(\delta+\rho n)}\) respectively. For certain values of \(\rho\) in the above functions, the authors give representations of them in terms of known special functions or express them as infinite integrals involving known functions. For \(\rho\neq 0\) and \(k\) positive integer the function \(_{1}\Psi_{1}(\rho,k;\rho,0;x)\) can be expressed as \((\rho x)^{k}\) multiplied by a polynomial in \(x^{-1}\) of degree \(k-1\). They also consider asymptotics of \(_{1}\Psi_{1}(\rho,k;\rho,0;x)\) for fixed \(k\) and for \(k\to+\infty\) and of \(_{0}\Phi_{1}(-;\rho,0;x)\) for \(x\to\pm \infty\).
