This paper is devoted to \textit{Hermite-Lorentz structures} on a manifold \(M\) of real dimension \(2n+2\), i.e., reductions of the structural group of \(TM\) to \(\mathrm{U}(1, n)\), the unitary group of the real form \(q_0=-\| z_0\| ^2+\| z_1\| ^2+\dots +\| z_n\| ^2\) of \(\mathbb{C}^{n+1}\). They are different from ``complex Riemannian'' structures which are reductions to \(\mathrm{O}(n+1, \mathbb{C})\).NEWLINENEWLINEMore precisely, Hermite-Lorentz metrics are studied as generalizations of both Hermitian metrics (from the definite to the indefinite) and Lorentz metrics (from the real to the complex). A special view is given to their isometry groups.
