The paper is devoted to regularization of generalized functions (distributions) of the form \(P(x)=p(x)/|x|^{2k +n-2}\), where \(p\) is a homogeneous polynomial of degree \(k\) on \(\mathbb R^n\). The case when \(p\) is harmonic is of particular interest. It is shown that, even though the Hadamard (p.f.) regularization of such distributions exists for every homogeneous polynomial \(p\) of degree \(k\), the corresponding integral exists in the principal value sense if and only if \(p\) is harmonic. New formulas are obtained for the derivatives of \(P(x)\) and more general functions of the form \(p(x)/|x|^{k +\ell}\).
