Let \(X_n(\underline{d})\) be a smooth complete intersection in \({\mathbb C}\mathbb P^{n+r}\) of multidegree \(\underline{d}:=(d_1,\ldots, d_r)\). The integer \(d:=d_1d_2\cdots d_r\) is called the total degree of \(X_n(\underline{d})\). It is known that (1) \(X_n(\underline{d})\) and \(X_n(\underline{d}')\) are homeomorphic if and only if they have the same total degree, Pontyagin classes, and Euler characteristics, provided that \(n=4,5,6,7\). (2) Consider all \(X_n(\underline{d})\)'s such that \(n>2\) and for the prime factorization of the total degree \(d=\prod_{p} p^{\nu_p(d)}\) the inequality \(\nu_p(d)\geqslant 1+ (2n+1)/2(p-1)\) holds for all primes \(p\) with \(p(p-1)\leqslant n+1\). Then \(X_n(\underline{d})\) and \(X_n(\underline{d}')\) of this type are diffeomorphic if and only if the total degrees, the Pontryagin classes, and the Euler characteristics agree. The aim of this paper is to give examples of diffeomorphic (or home\-omor\-phic) complex \(n\)-dimensional complete intersections, manly for \(n\leqslant 7\), which can be considered as a geometric realization of the above statements (1) and (2). By one of the listed examples the authors confirm the Libgober--Wood conjecture about the existence of the diffeomorphic complex \(3\)-dimensional complete intersections with different first Chern classes, which give an ex\-ample of a disconnected moduli space.
