This paper deals with one class of Volterra integral equations of the first kind with piecewise continuous kernels \(K(t,s)\) in the domain \(0<s<t \leq T\). The kernels have jump discontinuities on smooth disjoint curves which start from the origin. The equations with the kernels which have jump discontinuities on the single curve were addressed by \textit{N. A. Sidorov} and \textit{D. N. Sidorov} [Math. Notes 96, No. 6, 811--826 (2014; Zbl 1328.47015); translation from Mat. Zametki 96, No. 5, 773--789 (2014)] constructed the theory of such equations for the case of piecewise continuous operator functions \(K(t,s)\). The generalized solution in the space of Schwartz distributions is studied by \textit{D. N. Sidorov} [Bull. Malays. Math. Sci. Soc. (2) 37, No. 3, 757--768 (2014; Zbl 1314.45004)]. Numerical methods of such equations and their systems were constructed by \textit{I. Muftahov} et al. [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 313, 119--128 (2017; Zbl 1353.65137)] and \textit{I. R. Muftahov} and \textit{D. N. Sidorov} [Vestn. Yuzhno-Ural. Gos. Univ., Ser. Mat. Model. Program. 9, No. 1, 130--136 (2016; Zbl 1338.45002)] correspondingly. When the homogeneous equation has non-trivial solutions, the special numerical-analytical methods were constructed by \textit{D. Sidorov} [Integral dynamical models. Singularities, signals and control. Hackensack, NJ: World Scientific (2015; Zbl 1311.45012)]. In present paper (Sec. 1--2); the simple cases of such integral equations with piecewise continuous kernels are studied. Based on the inverse mapping theorem the sufficient conditions for the existence of classical solutions of equations are proved in the case when the homogeneous equation has only the trivial solution. More precise existence theorems (with non-uniqueness consideration) are proved by the above listed authors. Next, in Sec. 3, some examples are considered, including numerical solution construction. In these schemes the author attempts to ignore the presence of non-trivial solutions of the homogeneous equations. Moreover, the original piecewise continuous kernels are replaced with different kernels on the continuum! This replacement leads to the results unrelated to the original problem. There are more incorrect calculations as a result of the unjustified/formal application of the rules of differentiation to the equations with discontinuous kernels. This led the author to a number of paradoxes. Exact analytical solutions of the examples in Sec. 2 can be easily constructed by the method of solution of equations with functional perturbation of the neutral type argument proposed by \textit{N. A. Sidorov} and \textit{A. V. Trufanov} [Differ. Equ. 45, No. 12, 1840--1844 (2009; Zbl 1189.47059); translation from Differ. Uravn. 45, No. 12, 1804--1808 (2009)]. The remaining part of the paper (Sec. 4) is written in a chaotic style and it does not meet rigorous mathematical works requirements. For example, in the formulation of Problem (1) the desired function depends on a single argument, and then in Sec. 4, Equation (59) is constructed and depends on two arguments! The bibliography is highly unbalanced citing, mostly the author's papers and ignoring the results of the other authors in this field. As a footnote let us outline that the theory of Volterra integral equations of the first kind with piecewise continuous kernels involves exponential characteristic equations. The known analytical theory of Volterra integral equations of the first kind with continuous kernels involves algebraic characteristic equations, see [\textit{N. A. Magnitskij}, Zh. Vychisl. Mat. Mat. Fiz. 19, 970--988 (1979; Zbl 0436.45003)].
