The development of a highly accurate approach for the computation of pulsating detonation waves is important for the researchers. Here, the authors consider a mathematical model of the detonation wave. This model is considered for the one-step chemical reaction and it is written by the Euler equations. The authors numerically investigate the stability of various regimes of propagation of the pulsating gas detonation wave with the varying mixture activation energy using a specially developed computational algorithm of the second order of accuracy for the computation of the leading wave velocity evolution in the shock-attached frame. The distinctive feature of the paper is the use of a specially developed computational algorithm of the second approximation order for simulating detonation waves in the shock-attached frame. The key point of the computational algorithm is the solution of the equation for the evolution of the leading wave velocity using the second-order grid-characteristic method.
