The author proves an asymptotic stability result for the wave equation with an internal frictional damping together with a similar delayed term in case they have the same coefficients. In case the coefficients of the damping is bigger than the coefficient of the delayed term the stability is of exponential type. Moreover, an exponential stability result is established for the case of a frictional damping and a delayed viscoelastic delay both acting in a portion of the boundary. The main tools are: spectral analysis, the Gearhart-Prüss theorem, the frequency domain approach and the energy method.
