According to the authors, a multiple-relaxation-time lattice Boltzmann model for the general nonlinear anisotropic convection-diffusion equations (NACDEs) is proposed, and then tested by some classical NACDEs, including the simple linear convection-diffusion equation CDE, the nonlinear Burgers-Fisher equation, the nonlinear Buckley-Leverett equation and some anisotropic CDEs. The numerical results show that the presented multiple-relaxation-time (MRT) model is efficient and accurate in solving the NACDEs, and also has a second-order convergence rate in space. Besides, the authors also conduct a comparison between the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) model and the MRT model, and find that the presented MRT model could be more accurate and more stable than the BGK model through tuning the relaxation parameters properly.
