This paper deals with the existence of a free phase boundary, having corners at the null point, in the phase transition from hard to soft in a two- phase model of a self- gravitating relativistic fluid. The initial data for the hard phase equations are given along a piecewise smooth curve in the quotient manifold containing no pair of time-like related points; the boundary null points of a space-like curve of transition from hard to soft are shown to be the critical points of the mass energy density function with respect to the soft phase and the local form of the shock near the null point is established.
