This paper is devoted to the investigation of wave propagation phenomenon in reaction-diffusion equations with ignition type nonlinearity, in time heterogeneous and random media. The main results are the presence of transition fronts with time dependent profiles in time heterogeneous media, while in time random media can appear transition fronts with random profiles. First the authors consider the one dimensional reaction diffusion equation, to which different types of transition fronts may appear, between them the so-called critical transition fronts, giving the state of art in this topic. To the construction of global in time solutions of this reaction-diffusion equation as a uniform limit of appropriate fronts in each compact subset. They prove that the distance between their interface locations of any two interfaces remains bounded as time elapses. The authors give a uniform steepness estimate, and uniform decaying estimates behind and ahead the interface. They conclude the existence and uniqueness of transition fronts under conditions for the ignition temperature and growth of the right hand term, and the existence and uniqueness of critical transition fronts, and periodic travelling waves.
