A new enhancement of the quandle counting invariant of knots and links is proposed. Assume the quandle is embedded in the quandle of units of a Lie algebra. Then, for the enhancement, one can consider the size (or rank) of the Lie ideal generated by the image of the coloring homomorphism. Several examples show that this is a stronger invariant than counting, and that it is not determined by the image enhancement or the symplectic enhancement.
