A family \(\mu\) of subsets of a set \(X\) is called to be a general topology on \(X\) if \(\mu\) is closed under arbitrary unions and \(\emptyset\in\mu\). All these \((X,\mu)\)'s are called generalized topological spaces, as generalizations of topological spaces. A subset \(A\) of a \(\mu\)-space \((X, \mu)\) is called weakly \(\mu\)-compact if any cover of \(A\) by \(\mu\)-open subsets of \(X\) has a finite subfamily, the union of the \(\mu\)-closures of whose members covers \(A\). In this paper, the author summarizes some results on generalized topological spaces, introduces and studies \(\mu\)-\(S\)-closed spaces, i.e. \(\mu\)-spaces \((X, \mu)\) in which every cover of \(X\) by \(\mu\)-semi-open sets has a finite subfamily, the union of the \(\mu\)-closures of whose members covers \(X\). The class of \(\mu\)-\(S\)-closed spaces is a proper subclass of weakly \(\mu\)-compact spaces.
