We fix a number field \(F\), a valuation \(v\) of \(F\), and let \(p\) be the residue characteristic. The Weil-Deligne group \('W_{F_v}\) is then an extension of the Weil group \(W_{F_v}\) by the additive group \({\mathbb G}_a\) [\textit{P. Deligne}, Lect. Notes Math. 349, 501--597 (1973; Zbl 0271.14011)]. Now let \(A\) be an abelian variety over \(F\), and \(G_A\) its Mumford-Tate group. After replacing \(F\) by a finite extension if necessary, we may assume that for every prime number \(\ell\), the action of the absolute Galois group of \(F\) on \(H^1_{\text{ét}}(A_{/\bar{F}}, \mathbb{Q}_{\ell})\) factors through \(G_A(\mathbb{Q}_{\ell})\). For each prime \(\ell \neq p\) we then obtain an \(\ell\)-adic representation \('W_{F_v} \to G_A(\mathbb{Q}_{\ell})\). In an earlier paper [Algebra Number Theory 7, No. 2, 243--281 (2013; Zbl 1319.11038)], the author showed that (under suitable hypotheses) these \(\ell\)-adic representations form a compatible system of \(\mathbb{Q}\)-rational representations with values in \(G_A\). In the paper under review, the author considers the \(p\)-adic representation of the Weil-Deligne group arising from crystalline cohomology, and shows that (under the same hypotheses) the \(p\)-adic representation is also \(\mathbb{Q}\)-rational, and compatible with the \(\ell\)-adic representations.
