The authors consider the existence of solutions for the nonlinear neutral differential equation \[ \frac{d}{dx} \left [ x(t) - Q(t, x(t-\tau(t))) \right ] = -a(t)h(x(t - \tau(t))) + G(t, x(t), x(t - \tau(t))). \] The paper consists of four sections. In the second section, the authors provide preliminary information necessary for the remainder of the paper. In particular, they show how to invert the operator and state the fixed-point theorem (the Krasnoselskii-Burton Theorem) that they employ. Due to the neutral term, the inverted operator is not compact. It is, however, the sum of two operators. In the third section, the authors show, under their stated conditions, that one of these two operators is completely continuous and that the other is a large contraction. They then prove their main result, the existence of a periodic solution, and provide and example. Finally, in the last section, they establish that the differential equation has a nonnegative periodic solutions under their stated conditions as well as provide an example.
