The authors introduce two new quasi-Lie schemes for second-order Gambier equations and use them to study transformations of these equations (and a number of associate ones like Riccati, Kummer-Schwarz or Milne-Pinney equations) into normal forms. Quasi-Lie schemes generalise the classical notion of Lie systems, ordinary differential equations with a superposition rule. As applications constants of motions and exact solutions are obtained.
