From the authors' summary: ``A subgroup \(H\) of a group \(G\) is said to permute with a subgroup \(K\) of \(G\) if \(HK\) is a subgroup of \(G\). \(H\) is said to be permutable (resp. S-permutable) if it permutes with all the subgroups (resp. Sylow subgroups) of \(G\). Finite groups in which permutability (resp. S-permutability) is a transitive relation are called PT-groups (resp. PST-groups). PT-, PST- and T-groups, or groups in which normality is transitive, have been extensively studied and characterised. \textit{G. Kaplan} [Arch. Math. 96, No. 1, 19-25 (2011; Zbl 1230.20020)] presented some new characterisations of soluble T-groups.'' The authors prove the analogous of Kaplan's results for PT- and PST-groups. For instance, Kaplan uses the notion of NNM-group, which is a group where every nonnormal subgroup is contained in a nonnormal maximal subgroup. Using this notion, he proves that ``\(G\) is a solvable T-group if and only if all the subgroups of \(G\) are NNM-groups''. In this paper, the authors prove that ``A group \(G\) is a soluble PST-group if and only if every subgroup of \(G\) is an SNM-group'', where an SNM-group is a group where every non-S-permutable subgroup is contained in a non-normal maximal subgroup. However, the results in this paper are more general and Kaplan's results follow naturally from the main theorems of this paper.
