Considering a network with mobil users, independent Poisson flows enter each node and they move independently of one another in the network during their service. The trajectories of users are determined by an irreducible generator matrix with given stationary distribution. At each node the users share the service capacity by the processor-sharing discipline. The service time distribution is exponential, users move among the nodes independently of received service, transitions are determined by the users themselves. The model shares the characteristics of the M/M/1 and M/M/\(\infty\) systems in heavy traffic. At the investigation, one starts with a large initial state. So after a certain time the users will be distributed at the nodes according to the stationary distribution, the so-called homogenization property is fulfilled, it provides a picture when there is a large number of users in the network. The total number of users behaves asymptotically as in a single M/M/1 system and can so be approximated by a reflected Brownian motion whose stationary distribution tends to an exponential one. Using excursion arguments, the authors show that in heavy traffic the sequence of processes converges weakly to a multidimensional Brownian motion and investigate the asymptotic behavior of stationary distribution and sojourn times.
