The authors propose an iterative approximation scheme for the second-order boundary value problem \[ z''=Az+Bz'+f+\varepsilon Z\left(z,z',\varepsilon\right)\text{, }\,\ell z(\cdot,\varepsilon)=\alpha+\varepsilon J\left(z(\cdot,\varepsilon),z'(\cdot,\varepsilon),\varepsilon\right), \] where standard regularity hypotheses are imposed on the function \(Z\) and the functionals \(\ell\) and \(J\), e.g., \(Z\) is continuously differentiable with respect to \(z\) and \(z'\). The authors spend much of the paper considering, in particular, the problem \[ y''+y=\varepsilon\cdot Y(y,\varepsilon)\cdot y'\text{, }\,y(0,\varepsilon)-y\left(T_1(\varepsilon),\varepsilon\right)=0\text{, }\,y'(0,\varepsilon)-y'\left(T_1(\varepsilon),\varepsilon\right)=0, \] where \(Y\) is a nonlinear scalar function. The paper seems generally well written, though there are a few passages that may be slightly unclear to the reader -- e.g., the reviewer had difficulties discerning precisely the nature of \(T_1\) in the above boundary conditions as this does not seem to be made explicitly clear. In any case, the authors conclude the paper with an example, which is much appreciated, and helps to illustrate the results. Those interested in numerical methods for differential equations may find this to be of interest.
