Consider the differential-delay equation \[ (\varphi_p(x'(t)))'+f(t,x' (t-\tau_1(t)))+g(t,x(t-\tau_2(t)))=e(t),\tag{*} \] where \(p>1\), \(\varphi_p :\mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{R}\) is given by \(\varphi_p(s)=|s|^{p-2}s\) for \(s\neq 0\), \(\varphi_p(0)=0\), \(f\) and \(g\) are continuous and \(2\pi\)-periodic in the first argument, \(\tau_1\), \(\tau_2\) and \(e\) are continuous and \(2\pi\)-periodic. Assume the following additional conditions: (i) There is a positive constant \(k\) such that \(|f(t,x)|\leq k\) for \((t,x)\in\mathbb{R}\times\mathbb{R}\); (ii) There is a positive constant \(d>0\) such that \[ x(g(t,x)-\frac{1}{2\pi} \int^{2\pi}_0e(s)ds)<0\text{ for }|x|>d,\quad t\in\mathbb{R}, \] \[ |g(t,x)-\frac{1} {2\pi}\int^{2\pi}_0e(s)ds|>K\text{ for }|x|>d,\quad t\in\mathbb{R}. \] In this case the author proves the existence of at least one \(2\pi\)-periodic solution of (*). The proof is based on a continuation theorem due to Manásevich and Mawhin.
