The GI/M/1 queue with Bernoulli-schedule-controlled vacation and vacation interruption (Q358017)

The authors analyze a \(GI/M/1\) queue with Bernoulli-schedule-controlled vacation and vacation interruption. Many \(GI/M/1\) vacation queues will be special cases of this model. Using matrix-analytic method, they obtain various performance measures. They have also given numerical examples to study the effect of some parameters on the expected queue length. They also consider a cost optimization problem. Earlier \textit{M. Zhang} and \textit{Z. Hou} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 234, No. 10, 2977--2985 (2010; Zbl 1196.60156)] investigated an \(M/G/1\) queue with working vacations and vacation interruption.
