On special subvarieties of Kuga varieties (Q358830)

This paper is concerned with a special case of the general André--Oort conjecture for mixed Shimura varieties; namely it prove equidistribution of certain families of special subvarieties in Kuga varieties, a class of mixed Shimura varieties modeled after the universal family of abelian varieties of a pure Shimura variety. The proof parallels that for the pure case, following Clozel, Ullmo, and Yafaev, in applying ergodic theory to suitable locally symmetric manifolds. Technical restrictions lead to the notion of \(\varrho\)-rigidity of \(\mathbb{C}\)-special subvarieties which allows for applying results of Mozes and Shah.
