The author introduces a new kind of random forcing for the Burgers equation on the real line with no periodicity assumption. The forcing potential is given by a homogeneous Poisson measure with a finite spatial intensity measure. As commonly done, particle trajectories for the Burgers equation are identified as action minimizers associated to the variational principle underlying the dynamics. Under the Poissonian forcing, the geometry of solutions is investigated and leads to a tesselation of space-time into domains of influence of forcing points. A piecewise linear global solution is constructed via a limiting procedure seeded at zero initial condition. Then the behavior of the solution is studied at infinity and it is proved that it is a one-point attractor. The case of minimizers for the Burgers equation with spatially periodic Poissonian forcing is also briefly considered and a diffusive behavior is exhibited.
