The authors study complete noncompact space-like hypersurfaces in Lorentz manifolds which can be written as the warped product of an interval with an \(n\)-dimensional Riemannian manifold \(M\). Note that the metric on the interval component is taken to be time-like. Such manifolds are called generalised Robertson-Walker space-times. It is said that a generalised Robertson Walker space-time satisfies the null convergence condition if and only if \[ \mathrm{Ric}_M \geq (n-1) \sup_I (f f'' -(f')^2) <\cdot, \cdot>_M, \] where \(f\) denotes the warping function of the metric. The authors then investigate several conditions on the mean curvature which implies that the hypersurface is necessarily a slice.
