Let the real Banach space \(E\) be partially ordered by a cone \(P\) of \(E\) and for \(h\succ\theta\) (\(= h\succeq\theta\) and \(h\neq\theta\), \(\theta\) denotes the zero element of \(E\)), \[ P_h= \{x\in E:\exists_{\lambda(x),\mu(x)> 0}\lambda(x) h\preceq x\preceq\mu(x) h\}\subset P. \] In the present paper the authors consider the nonlinear equation \(x= Ax+ x_0\), where \(A: P_h\to P_h\) is an increasing operator. Under some additional assumptions on \(A\) and \(x_0\), for any \(x_0\in P_h\), \(A\) has a unique fixed point \(x^*\in P_h\) and \(\| A^nx_0- x^*\|\to 0\) as \(n\to\infty\). Then the authors use this results to study the existence of solutions to quadratic integral equations with a linear modification of the argument, positive solutions of a second-order Neumann boundary value problem, and positive definite solutions of a class of nonlinear matrix equations.
