The paper under review contains a correction of the so-called Theorem J from the authors' well-known seminal book [Lagrangian intersection Floer theory. Anomaly and obstruction. I. Providence, RI: American Mathematical Society (AMS); Somerville, MA: International Press (2009; Zbl 1181.53002)]. Roughly speaking, Theorem J gives a lower bound of the displacement energy of a relatively spin pair of two Lagrangian submanifolds with bounding cochains in terms of torsion exponents of the Floer cohomology with a certain subring of the universal Novikov ring. Two new ingredients for the correction are the use of an optimal Floer chain map and an energy estimate of the type introduced by Chekanov in 1998. In order to understand this rather technical paper fully, it will be of great help to be familiar with the contents of the book mentioned above. As illustrative applications, the authors also give a non-displacement theorem for a torus in \({\mathbb C} \times S^2\) under the bounded time-dependent Hamiltonian. They generalize this 4-dimensional result to polydisks \(D^2(r_1)\times \cdots\times D^2(r_n)\) in arbitrary high dimensions. One key feature of these polydisks is that they can be embedded into the toric manifolds \(S^2(a_1)\times \cdots \times S^2(a_n)\) or \(S^2(a)\times {\mathbb{CP}}^{n-1}\) for certain \(a_i\)'s and \((a, \lambda)\). It is worthwhile to mention that recently the displacement problem of a Lagrangian torus in various toric manifolds initiated by the the second author with C.-H. Cho have attracted great attention and plays an important role in symplectic topology.
