For an abelian group \(A\) and a function \(\tau:\mathbb{Z}_{3}\rightarrow \mathbb{Z}\) with \(\tau(0)=0\) which is not necessarily a homomorphism, one gets a quandle operation on \(\mathbb{Z}_{3} \times A\) by defining \( (x,a)*(y,b) = (2y-x,-a+\mu(x-y)b+\tau(x-y))\) where \(\mu:\mathbb{Z}_{3} \rightarrow \mathbb{Z}\) is a function given by \(\mu(0)=2\) and \(\mu(1)=\mu(2)=-1\). The authors call such quandles \textit{Galkin quandles}. They classify isomorphism classes of Galkin quandles and show that Galkin quandles provide several examples of quandles with or without various properties, like being Latin, Alexander, or symmetric. They further study coloring of knots by finite Galkin quandles.
