The authors study the semilocal convergence of the modified Newton's method having third-order convergence. A Newton-Kantorovich convergence theorem is established for the modified Newton's method under the gamma-condition in a Banach space to solve nonlinear equations. It is assumed that the nonlinear operator is twice Fréchet differentiable and satisfies the gamma-condition. If the nonlinear operator has \(k\)th-order derivatives and satisfies the gamma-condition of order \(k\), the theorem also holds. The error estimate is given, too. Numerical results show the effectiveness of the obtained results.
