A linear time fractional partial differential equation is considered and solved numerically by using a moving finite element method. The method is based on non-uniform meshes in time and moving meshes in space. The purpose of the paper is to simulate the blow-up solutions. The time fractional derivative (of order \(\alpha\)) is discretized by means of the finite difference method, and the stability and convergence of the scheme are analyzed. The authors present also the stability and the convergence of the moving mesh method for the linear time fractional partial differential equation. Finally, numerical simulations for the blow-up solutions for nonlinear time fractional partial differential equations are given.
