Consider a spherical homogeneous space \(G/H\), where \(G\) is a simply connected semisimple complex algebraic group and \(H\) is a closed subgroup of \(H\). The set of all dominant weights of \(G\), such that the space of regular functions on \(G/H\), considered as a \(G\)-module, contains the irreducible \(G\)-submodule with highest weight \(\lambda\), is called the {\textit{weight semigroup}}, and is denoted by \(\Lambda_+ (G/H)\). More generally, one may consider the representations of \(G\) on spaces of regular sections of homogeneous line bundles over \(G/H\); in this more general framework, the analogue of \(\Lambda_+ (G/H)\) is called the {\textit{extended weight semigroup}}, and is denoted by \(\hat{\Lambda}_+ (G/H)\). The importance of \(\hat{\Lambda}_+ (G/H)\) is due to the fact that, as a consequence of some results proved by \textit{E. B. Vinberg} and \textit{B. N. Kimelfeld} [Funct. Anal. Appl. 12, 168--174 (1979); translation from Funkts. Anal. Prilozh. 12, No. 3, 12--19 (1978; Zbl 0439.53055)], this semigroup determines the \(G\)-module structures on spaces of regular sections of all homogeneous line bundles over \(G/H\), if \(G/H\) is spherical (recall that \(G/H\) is called {\textit{spherical}} if a Borel subgroup \(B\subset G\) has an open orbit in \(G/H\)). Actually, a complete description of the semigroups \(\hat{\Lambda}_+ (G/H)\) is known only in the case of simply connected {\textit{affine}} spherical homogeneous spaces \(G/H\) (that is, with a reductive \(H\)). In this paper the authors extend the computation of the semigroups \(\hat{\Lambda}_+ (G/H)\) to all spherical homogeneous spaces \(G/H\), with \(H\) a connected solvable subgroup of \(G\). The proof combines ideas from earlier papers of Avdeev and Gorfinkel; more precisely, the authors generalize the approach introduced in [\textit{N. E. Gorfinkel}, ``Harmonic analysis on a class of spherical homogeneous spaces'', Math. Notes 90, No. 5, 678--685 (2011); translation from Mat. Zametki 90, No. 5, 703--711 (2011)] and express their results by means of the combinatorial data introduced in [\textit{R. S. Avdeev}, Trans. Mosc. Math. Soc. 2011, 1--44 (2011); translation from Tr. Mosk. Mat. O.-va 2011, No. 1, 5--62 (2011; Zbl 1256.20046)].
