This paper proposes a new framework to modelling hawk-dove games. In this new model, both actions and rates of births and deaths explicitly appear in the population's dynamic. Another novelty about this new approach is that the dynamic is determined by the actual number of members and not by fractions of them. It has also been associated to each member of the population the so-called ``energy states'' that determine the status of such a member. All members of the population have the same objective function. Using this new model, the authors study pure and mixed equilibria, providing existence and characterisations of these equilibria.
