    Summary: We study the global asymptotic stability of the following difference equation: \(x_{n + 1} = f(x_{n - k_1}, x_{n - k_2}, \dots, x_{n - k_s}; x_{n - m_1}, x_{n - m_2}, \dots, x_{n - m_t}), n = 0, 1, \dots\) where \(0 \leq k_1 < k_2 < \cdots k_s\) and \(0 \leq m_1 < m_2 < \cdots < m_t\) with \(\{k_1, k_2, \dots, k_s\} \bigcap \{m_1, m_2, \dots, m_t\} = \emptyset\) the initial values are positive, and \(f \in C(E^{s + t}, (0, +\infty))\) with \(E \in \{(0, +\infty), [0, +\infty)\}\). We give sufficient conditions under which the unique positive equilibrium \(\bar{x}\) of that equation is globally asymptotically stable.
