The authors are concerned with the following problem: \[ \begin{aligned} & x'''(t)+f(t,x(t))=0,\quad t\in[0,1],\\ & x'(0)=x''(0)=0,\;x(1)=\sum_{i=1}^{m-2}\beta_ix(\xi_i), \end{aligned} \] where \(f\in C([0,1]\times[0,\infty),\mathbb{R})\), \(0<\xi_1<\xi_2<\ldots<\xi_{m-2}<1\), \(0\leq\beta_i\leq1\) for \(i=1,2,\ldots,m-2\). The authors discuss separately the cases \(\sum_{i=1}^{m-2}\beta_i<1\) (nonresonant case) and \(\sum_{i=1}^{m-2}\beta_i=1\) (resonant case). The Leggett-Williams fixed point theorem in its normal form and in its norm-type form is used to prove the existence of positive solutions under local growth conditions on the nonlinearity \(f\). Two examples are presented.
