    The real line \((-\infty,\infty)\) is denoted by \(\mathbb{R}\) and the set of Lebesgue measurable functions on \(\mathbb{R}\) is denoted by \(L^0(\mathbb{R})\). If \(1\leq p<\infty\), then \(L^p(\mathbb{R})= L^p(-\infty,\infty)\) denotes \(\{[f]:\|[f]\|_p=\| f\|_p< \infty\}\), where \([f]\) is the equivalence class of functions which differ from \(f\) on sets of measure \(0\) and \[ \| f\|_p= \Biggl(\int^\infty_{-\infty} |f(\xi)|^p\,d\xi\Biggr)^{1/p}. \] The Hilbert transform \({\mathcal H}(f)\) of \(f\) in some space \(L^p(\mathbb R)\) is defined by \[ {\mathcal H}(f)(x)= \frac1\pi \lim_{\delta\to 0}\Biggl(\int^{x-\delta}_{-\infty}+ \int^\infty_{x+\delta}\Biggr)\frac{ f(\xi)}{\xi- x}\,d\xi. \] The main results of this paper involve functions which satisfy the Bedrosian identity \({\mathcal H}(fg)=f{\mathcal H}(g)\). If \(F\) is analytic in the upper half of complex plane, then it is known by considering contour integrals around semi-circles in the upper half plane that \({\mathcal H}(F)(x)= -iF(x)\) [\textit{G. O. Okikiolu}, Aspects of the theory of bounded integral operators in \(L^p\)-spaces. London-New York: Academic Press (1971; Zbl 0219.44002], and results of this type may be applied to confirm the authors' initial results of the form \({\mathcal H}\{\rho(\cdot)\cos\theta(\cdot)\}(x)= \rho(x)\sin\theta(x)\), \(x\in \mathbb R\), where \(\theta\) and \(\rho\) are real-valued. In the main theorem of the paper the authors state that a real-valued function \(\rho\) satisfies the Bedrosian identity if and only if sequences \(c= \{c_j,\,j\in \mathbb Z\}\), \(d= \{d_j,\, j\in \mathbb Z\}\) may be determined such that \[ \rho(t)= \sum_{j\in \mathbb Z} c_j\{\sin\theta_a(t- 2\pi j))/(t- 2\pi j)\}+ \sum_{j\in \mathbb Z} d_j\{1- \cos\theta_a(t- 2\pi j)\}/(t- 2\pi j). \]
