Let \(G\) be a reductive algebraic group over a field \(\mathbb{F}.\) Let \(P_{1},\dots,P_{k}\) be parabolic subgroups of \(G,\) and let \[ \mathcal{M} =\left( G/P_{1}\right) \times\left( G/P_{2}\right) \times\cdots \times\left( G/P_{k}\right) . \] We say \(\mathcal{M}\) is of finite type if it has a finite number of \(G\)-orbits under the diagonal action of \(G\). Now set \(k=3,\) so \(\mathcal{M}\) is a triple flag variety. In the work under review the author describes the orbit decomposition of \(\mathcal{M}\) in one particular case. Let \(G=\)SO\(_{2n+1}\left( \mathbb{F}\right) \), char\(\;\mathbb{F}\neq2.\) Here orthogonality is with respect to the bilinear form on \(\mathbb{F\times F}\) given by \(\left( e_{i},e_{j}\right) =\delta_{i,2n-j+2},\;1\leq i,j\leq2n+1\), \(\left\{ e_{i}\right\} \) the canonical basis. Let \(P\) be a maximal parabolic subgroup of \(G\) of shape \(\left( n,1,n\right) \) and let \(P_{1}=P_{2} =P_{3}=P.\) The orbit decomposition in this case is given, as well as the case \(P_{1}=P_{2}=P,\;P_{3}=B\) for a Borel subgroup \(B\) of \(G.\) This permits a description of the \(\text{GL}_{n}\)-orbits on \(G/B,\) along with orbits of a certain fixed-point subgroup of Sp\(_{2n}\) as well as \(1\times\)Sp\(_{2n} \)-orbits of the flag variety of \(\text{GL}_{2n+1}.\) Now let \(G=\)SO\(_{2n}\left( \mathbb{F}\right) \) (with char \(\mathbb{F} \neq2),\) and let \(P\) be a maximal parabolic subgroup of the shape \(\left(n,n\right)\). This orbit decomposition is given as well. The description of each of these orbits is difficult to describe in this short review, however they are provided quite explicitly in this paper.
